Individual Donors
Over the years, UCP of Tampa Bay has enjoyed support from an extremely loyal group of donors. We are now pleased to offer a number of options for our individual donors and encourage you to call to discuss which option is best for you.
Annual Giving
Many individuals choose to support UCP on a regular basis each year. We welcome these gifts and appreciate the support that allows us to continue to provide client services throughout the year. Please click here or mail your donation to our offices at 2215 E. Henry Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.
Major Gifts
Major gifts allow UCP to match foundation grants, initiate new programs, refurbish facilities and accomplish so many other goals. We invite you to attend a Discover UCP breakfast tour or to schedule a personal visit of our facility. Please contact Patti Hansen at 813-239-1179 ext. 227 or email her at phansen@ucptampa.org.
Planned Giving
Planned Giving: Planned Giving provides donors the opportunity to make lasting contributions to UCP of the State of Florida, $__________ or _________ percent of the residuary of my estate to be used for the areas of greatest need within UCP.
-
IRA Gifts: A new tax law signed by President Bush allows individuals an opportunity to make tax-free donations from their individual retirement accounts. The following are some general guidelines regarding these types of contributions:
-
These donations are restricted to people age 70 ½ or older.
-
Contributions are limited to no more than $100,000 annually from personal IRAs in 2007.
-
Younger donors can participate by withdrawing retirement funds at age 59 ½ and gifting it to UCP. With careful planning, tax deductions donors receive for their charitable gifts often offset the income tax they owe on the withdrawal. And, under longstanding laws, donors can leave IRA funds to UCP in their wills, and their estates will not owe taxes on the money. If you are interested in learning more about making a bequest or IRA contribution to UCP, check with your financial advisor
. These gifts can be in the form of bequests, IRA contributions and many other gift planning options. By taking advantage of various giving plans that produce lifelong income, donors can receive charitable tax benefits for their estate gifts.
-
Bequests: Many donors choose to remember UCP in their estate plans. Bequests may be made for specific dollar amounts or a percentage of the estate. In response to donor questions, we suggest the following wording for a bequest: “I hereby give, devise and bequeath to the UCP Memorial Foundation, Inc. a not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws
Memorials and Tributes

Often family members request such donations in lieu of flowers. Tributes are to honor living individuals for any number of reasons, including a birthday, graduation, wedding, anniversary, Mother’s or Father’s day, or any special occasion. For either memorials or gifts, please provide the name of the person who is being honored or commemorated, the reason why, and the name and address of the person who should receive notification of your thoughtful gift. Please be assured that we will not divulge the amount of your gift when we notify them.
