UCP of Tampa Bay’s respite services are designed to support not only the individual with a disability, but also the larger family unit.

Respite Services

UCP's in-home respite service, provides trained workers to assist those who provide care for individuals of all ages with all disabilities. These services are available in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Hernando, Citrus and Pasco Counties. This much-needed support for caregivers helps maintain the integrity of the family, while often preventing the need for institutionalization of the family member with a disability or the senior adult who needs special care.

Respite provides temporary relief for families and other caregivers, decreasing feelings of isolation, allowing them to engage in non-caregiving daily activities and increasing their ability to cope with day-to-day caregiver responsibilities. Respite services can also assist in crisis situations.
